Nigerians Decide 2023: Poll Results Shows the possible outcome of the forthcoming Presidential, Gubernatorial and other election across Nigeria.
Even though the Nigeria election is around the corner, one good thing about election polls is, one can easily convert qualitative data into quantitative data. The same data is then interpreted to derive insights for making better decisions. The data collected is always beneficial for designing election campaigns, understanding people’s opinion about the candidates, and also helps in predicting the election results before official declaration of the election results.
In a statement made available to the press by the agency’s Project Director, Rosalynn Carter. According to her “with few days to the Nigeria general election, the firm concluded their poll on 20th February 2023, which includes the presidential, Senatatorial, House of Representatives, Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections with the result showing there will be high turnout of voters in the Nigeria’s coming election and survey also shows significant increase in the number of young ones getting interested in politics and election matter. Data at our disposal also shows a significant increase in the confidence the masses bestowed on the country’s electoral umpire, INEC especially with the introduction of BVAS.
Announcing the poll result, Carter said the poll was carried out in line with international best practices with unique features which makes it easier for people to vote. At the end of the online voting for the presidential election, PETER OBI of Labour Party came first with 5,757,440 votes, followed by BOLA TINUBU of APC who polled 3,649,589 votes. ATIKU ABUBAKAR of Peoples Democratic Party, got 3,275,980 votes.
Nigeriansdecide.com poll has shown that, there will be a keenly contested governorship election in Kaduna state between APC and PDP. According to Nigeriansdecide.com, APC candidate, SANI UBA came first with 86,946 votes , PDP candidate, MOHAMMED ASHIRU ISA came second with 86,255 votes and NNPP candidate, OTHMAN HUNKUYI SULEIMAN came third with 43,766 votes.
Poll conducted in Kano revealed that APC candidate, GAWUNA NASIRU YUSUF came first with 75,955 votes, NNPP candidate, YUSUF ABBA KABIR came second with 74,868 votes and PDP candidate, WALI MOHAMMED SADIQ came third with 11,786 votes.
Nigeriansdecide.com also revealed that the PDP governorship candidate in Enugu state received the highest number of votes amongst all the gubernatorial polls in Nigeria, finishing with 95% of the total votes cast in the state. The PDP Gubernatorial candidate, MBAH PETER NDUBUISI came first with 956,561 votes, APGA candidate, NWEKE FRANK NNAEMEKA JR came second with 18,588 votes and LP candidate, EDEOGA CHIJIOKE JONATHAN came third with 12,956 votes. The result revealed that the Enugu governorship election is a done deal for the PDP governorship candidate.
The APC governorship candidate in Ebonyi, NWIFURU FRANCIS OGBONNA came first with a strong margin of 643,976 votes against the closest rival, PDP candidate, CHUKWUMA ODII IFEANYI who came second with 75,673 votes and APGA Gubernatorial candidate, ODOH BENARD came third with 21,879 votes.
Speaking further, the Project Director noted that the Labour party is showing resilience in Borno state as APC candidate, BABAGANA UMARA came first with 83,674 votes, The labour party candidate, GONI ABDULLAHI came second with 71,775 votes and the PDP candidate, ALI MOHAMMED came third with 55,800 votes.
In Nasarawa state, PDP candidate, EMMANUEL DAVID OMBUGADU came first with 21,157 votes, APC candidate, SULE AUDU ALHAJI came second with 12,525 votes and Labour party candidate, EWUGE JOSEPH EWUDUN came third with 7,200 votes.
The Kwara state governorship race shows a keenly contested election between PDP, APC and YPP. In Kwara state, the PDP Governorship candidate, ABDULLAHI SHUAIBU YAMAN came first with 100,165 votes, APC candidate, ABDULRAZAQ ABDULRAHMAN came second with 92,361 votes and YPP candidate, GOBIR WAZIRI YAKUBU came third with 62,120 votes.
In Cross Rivers State, the PDP governorship candidate, ONOR SANDY OJANG came first with 252,223 votes, the APC candidate, OTU BASSEY EDET came second with 226,453 votes and Labour Party candidate, OBU OGAR came third with 226,354 votes.
For Oyo state, the election is between APP and PDP. APP candidate, YINUSA KAZEEM AYANDOYE came first with 65,785 votes, PDP candidate, MAKINDE OLUSEYI ABIODUN came second with 64,896 votes and APC candidate, FOLARIN KOLAWOLE TESLIM came third with 59,675 votes.
In Lagos the Labour Party Governorship candidate is showing strong presence with APC coming behind. Labour party Governorship candidate, RHODES-VIVOUR GBADEBO PATRICK came first with 345,275 votes, APC Governorship candidate, SANWO-OLU BABAJIDE OLUSOLA came second with 345,221 votes and PDP Governorship candidate, ADEDIRAN AZEEZ OLAJIDE came third with 324,896 votes.
The Project Director who praised the support of Nigeria voters for the success of the survey recalled her statement during the launch of the online poll late last year “as an agency with the sole aim of ensuring excellence in the promotion of credible elections, participatory democracy, human rights, and strengthening of governance institutions for the consolidation of democratic practice around the world, Nigeria is of a great interest to us because of its position as the most populous black nation in the world as well as Africa’s second largest economy.
